YBNL vs DMW, Which Is A Bigger Label?

In our Industry of today, if you are not signed to a notable record label, that means your chance to blow in the music industry is still on motion.

Forget how Talented you are, Forget how rich you are, If your Record Label is not one of the Big fish, your content will suffer and this will definitely tell on your Music career as the Music industry runs on Paddy Paddy level.

Lets get down to business….

So, talking about successful record labels and successful artistes in Nigeria, it is safe to place Olamide’s owned YBNL and Davido’s DMW in the top 3 but the question is “Which Bigger Than The Other?”

Before Una Go Judge, Let’s Do A Brief Analysis of Both Labels.

YBNL

Olamide started off YBNL with artistes, Like Lil Kesh, Viktoh, Adekunle Gold andChinko Ekun. For the standard and level Olamide had attained in the industry at that time, signing four artistes is not a bad way to start. But out of the four, how many really made it to stardom?

Anyway, I would say Adekunle Gold and Lil Kesh are proud signings to YBNL. With one to two songs, their career was already flourishing even till now after YBNL exit. E con be like say Viktoh and Chinko Ekun career get too much water inside, dey no dey quick blow. But at the same time YBNL made name for them and gave them the solid foundation they are building on and enjoying today with another record label.

Meanwhile, YBNL currently has Davolee and Temi Ovwasa on its list of artistes. While, the YBNL first lady is still nowhere to be found, Davolee is rising really fast.

DMW

Davido Music Worldwide, DMW on the other hand was born out of HKN music which was a family union of the Adeleke brothers, Davido, B-Red, Sina Rambo andDanagog.

It was when the family thing wasn’t paying off that Davido floated his own Label,DMW while still retaining the co-ownership status of HKN with his elder brother Adewale Adeleke.

Now, DMW has the likes of Lola Rae, Yonda, Dremo and the rave of the moment,Mayorkun. Obviously, DMW is successful with Mayorkun and Dremo while Yonda and Lola Rae are rising at their own pace.

So, Judging by the above analysis and many other obvious reasons & past glories,
